One Way VS. Reciprocal Back links.

The difference between one way links, and two or three way reciprocal links, is that Google's algorithm, takes into account the number of outbound links a blog or website has which compensates the weight or effect, with relation with the number of inbound links it has.

Reciprocal links-

Reciprocal links are the ones mutually negotiated between two websites, where they exchange a link to each other. Website A, points a link to Website B, and the other way around.

To achieve results in a reciprocal link campaign, you must contact websites having similar content and asking for a link exchange.

One Way Link Building-

One way links, are the ones you receive at your blog from other sites, that do not requires you linking back to them.

This is valued by search engines, as a vote in favour of your blog’s content. This vote on favour for your content, is giving link popularity and so it will help improve your Page Rank.
  • The first step for one-way link building, is to submit your website to Directories like Dmoz.org, Yahoo!, or others more specialized, in the appropriate category. This usually takes time, and effort, but it is the way to start.
  • Another way to get one way links, is by writing posts and articles, and to submit them to Blogs and newsletters, which are filed online. There are servides like Linkvana. That asist you on that task.
  • Buying one-way links from existing quality content sites is a fast effective way. There is a good amount of possibilities that will adapt to your budget, at TELIAD.
Reciprocal links help if they come from websites having similar content theme, but the main source of quality link popularity and Page Rank, is from One Way Links.

Search Engine algorithms, count inbound and outbound links. The result on the "link popularity" of a document for the outbound links, will influence, to a certain degree, on the positive effect of the inbound backlinks. It will subtract some of the weight the inbound link has for creating popularity and increasing Page Rank.

Besides de abovementioned, there could also be a better qualification by search engines, if the link is a real "vote" on favour of good content, rather than an exchange. So probably, Google and other search engines, will give more weight to a one way links, than reciprocal links.
